Next thing you will need to do is determine the computer's IP # and whether it is fixed or changes every time the computer starts up. Some providers leave the same number assigned to you and others change. Sometimes you can request a fixed IP if they're using one that always changes.

OK EdB...how do I find that # & how would one know whether it's fixed or changes...ever? Can I find that info myself by looking? Talking to someone @ Verizon re. their internet service is not easy. I tried, I know.
