My old computer mother board quit so I replaced the whole computer (Dell).

I opened the Dell in an attempt to attach old hard drive in order to transfer files.  Dell only has USB slots inside and out.  My old hard drive has a flat ribbon that attaches it to mother board.

How do I retrieve my files?  Does someone make an adapter?
