For those of you who do serious cutting, how big are the torches cutting up the bridge? How big is the tip? How big are the hoses, how much gas does one torch use in a day? This morning I was doing a little cutting with my shop torch with a #2 tip and I got to thinking about this. Those guys are cutting some seriously thick steel, the sparks fly a long ways. Do they run more gas pressure? I know you don’t dare run the acetylene pressure too high. How about the oxy pressure?

For most of the larger cutting they likely are using exothermic cutting equipment, not acetylene/oxygen cutting torches.
