Nw Iowa | We have a couple trucks and a couple of older tractors that always leak down slightly over the year. I just want to add Freon without a service call. This would seem to be to be a pretty simple process? Never done it before. I was thinking a decent set of gauges and some cans of Freon and you tube video or two and I would be able to top them off? What do I need and am I over simplifying it? The trucks for instance, had them in last year on the high priced machine, didn’t detect any leaks but was not functioning properly again this spring, just like every other spring. Have a couple of older 40 series Deeres that are same story. Trucks are new enough and older tractors updated to the newer Freon. Seems like $150 to 200 a unit per year in service calls. Any suggestions? Brand of gauges? Brand of Freon,
Edit just want to add Freon, not replace any components
