Osage iowa | I’m young and never cared for rain days, my neighbor always told me “Take what you can get because you never know how long until the next rain.” I got skunked last year on a few farms and now understand how fortunate I am to get regular rain. Farming can be humbling, no matter how good of seed, placement of fertilizer, best weed control and shiny machinery I have, I still need what I can’t control. We’ve gotten several inches in the last few days and I’m welcoming every drop even if it delays my plans. Now I’m off to the nrcs office to get more tile maps to make plans for the extra water I’ve been given. | |
