SW OH | I drove a truck for a while hauling coils, lumber and odd pieces of machinery. It was always expected that the shipper and receiver had a way to get it on and off. A few times I had to wait while they borrowed a forklift or crane to load or unload. At the 61 minute mark they were charged $55 an hour demurage rounded up to the next 15 minutes.
It sounds like whomever you hired didn't know what they were doing by not asking about loading and unloading.
