You should be able to put them on with no lines hooked up and try both positions... Needs to hit the down stop, not the air cylinder or you will break them... Also on air line routing... some work better pointed downward not to pinch hoses... After you figure out best route i put a 3/4 inch rubber hose over them and hook them up... On my last Deere setup with Martins I pointed the top air fitting down and lower up then zip tied them together in mid cylinder and around lower air fitting, then slid my 3/4 hose down over everthing for a clean protected look... tied the top of hose to unit frame... Leaving the 3/4 hose lose other than at planter unit atachment point...
