Subject: Clean sweep cylinder positioning?

South Central Kansas, Harper County
I have a JD 1770 CCS 16 row planter, with Yetter Row Cleaners and clean sweep cylinders with my 20/20 system.
I have quite a few air cylinders getting worn from coming in contact with yetter framework.

I was looking back in my manual, and it says with JD planters having 21” parralell bars that the clean sweepmust be mounted in the bottom holes on both ends of the cylinder. Anybody know why this is the case? I can use the top holes that are available, and have more clearance with framework. I’ve placed one in the top holes and raised the whole assembly up and down and see no issues with hitting anything on planter. Manual says to always turn air fittings down, was curious about that also? Opinions welcomed.
Thanks
Jim
