Whether ISIS or some other anti-Putin partisans group killed a bunch of innocent citizens is probably somewhat lower level as the sense of nationalism /identity that arises from the senseless slaughter of civilians deep within a homeland. Ie. Ukraine, 9-11 in this country, hamas concert attack on Israelis, etc. killing civilians in a terror attack is a rally cry…. And “ends justify the means”. I would be very careful making callous predictions about a Russian president er dictator statesman. It wasnt very long ago Adavika was “captured” at tremendous losses for both sides.
The only thing I’d claim to know about this whole situation is that Putin and ordinary Russians are feeling pretty exposed and vulnerable now. You don’t take prisoners and you don’t mess around with finding the plotters to begin with … but it will be slow and painful to their end. | |
