Subject: Deep Injection or Pipelining Ethanol CO2 is a $$ waster - Pay to the lowCIS Grower

Colorado and Oz

Deep injection or pipelining to some distant Type VI Well site is a HUGE NIMBY issue.

Why not pay a premium to low CIS corn feedstock producers (40 % of corn bushels).  If you are a low CIS grower (climate smart) producer for #2corn and a CIS of 10, can you pass the tax incentive through to your landlords in liew of cash of crop share?  A low CIS ethanol grain contract might earn as much as $1.50 in CIS 45Z benefits.

For those of you following along on the potential for low CIS corn feedstock for ethanol receiving tax benefits via the IRA's 45Z for low CIS biofuels, any rumor if it is possible to verify a tenant's low CIS (say a CIS of 10 versus 30) on the rented land, would it be possible to pass through some or all of the Tax Benefit for qualified low CIS Ethanol tax incentive received and then used as a pass through to my land lord(s) over cash rent or crop share?
