North West IA/western AZ | 12 years is getting close to its normal life span. If you are worried about tearing up your lawn, you could have that part bored in if you have room to bury the pipe in fields.
My air to air would defrost on a certain schedule when the outside temp got low enough. That schedule was adjustable and it kept my coils free of frost until the unit shut down in the low teens. I did have trouble with the melt water building up from below. It was a constant battle of man vs ice. It has been great not having that problem anymore. | |
