i'm only 32 but feel the same way all the time. so many neighbours and others i've known since i was a kid are gone. i've definitely gone to far more funerals in my life then i have weddings or any other events. in the last 10 years i can only think of a single wedding i've been to yet i must have gone to at least a dozen funerals.


The ratio is not going to get better as you get older. Our little unincorporated village (pop. 29) has lost 4 locals in the last 3 months. One was a guy who was 55, died of stage 4 colon cancer. I am 52. Kinda makes a guy go Hmm...….
