Hennepin, IL | Gonna throw in my $0.02 from my back yard. Just pulled a couple ears tonite from some that's just starting to pollinate. 16x42 is what I get with a normal tipback. Looking at the forecast for the next week, I dont see why that wouldn't pollinate well. For the next week there's 1 day over 90 and the highest low is 74 with most in the 60s. Now punch in 33000 ears and just for giggles an 80k or even 90k kernel size. The last 2 years we've had numbers around here that were 65k at harvest. Hopefully I dont sound like I'm bragging, just giving my perspective since we seem to hear a lot from the guys that are having it rough. | |
