Subject: RE: There WERE differences in the 60’s

East Central Kansas
Had aa early 60’s GMC with torsion bar front suspension, pretty sure that Chevy had coil springs. GMC also used a HD V6 in their trucks through much, if not all, the60’s. Chevy used V8’s. Our 1960(?) 1/2 ton GMC had a 305 V6 that was bullet proof, bought it in 1966 with 60+k miles , story d up to all the abuse a teenage boy could give it for the last two years of high school and the first two years of college. Never needed to add oil between changes.

Also have a 2ton(5500) GMC with 15’ gran box with the same 305 engine, bulletproof, but definitely underpowered by today’s standards.
