NE Indiana | I was a juror on a child molestation case, where a guy was doing terrible things to his 8-9 year old step daughter. 2.5 days in court including the jury selection. Took us about 45 minutes to find him guilty on multiple different charges. Jury members had to be escorted out of the building before anybody else could leave the courtroom because some friends and family of the scumbag were openly yelling after the verdict and getting obscene. I'm not sure what they expected, as it was a clear cut case. About a month later he was sentenced to 209 years in prison. It was not the most fun experience, but it did teach me a lot about our judicial system and procedures. I hope to never have to sit thru anything like this case again, but would gladly be a juror again. | |
