I had a few more dink calves when I was starting out. I don't see many now, and even the #2 stockers I am buying, seem like they have plenty of grow to them. But aren't ready to ride to Kansas the week they are pulled off mama.

I'm sure "quality" also includes some feedlot characteristics, like ability to eat maximum amount of corn. Or to finish at 1600#. And they may completely lack that quality.
