Marianna Arkansas | Do yourself a favor and learn on a good welder. I learned on a little Lincoln buzz box and was a awful welder. Finally bought a older bigger Lincoln and didn't have any idea I could weld so good.
Auto dark helmet will help you greatly too. Weld only on good clean thick metal. Once you master rod control and know you can stick something togather then try thinner stuff and rusty dirty stuff.
I didn't read all replies but I think rods were covered well.
Also a welder with a hot start will help you. If you don't have access to that just scratch your rod across the concrete floor once you are striking a rod that has already been used. Of set a cinder block on your welding table. | |
