According to first hand reports, when Trump went for it, Trudeau braced himself with his left hand on Trump's shoulder, pulled Trump in close and didn't give Trump a chance to yank him around. Later, during the sitdown photo opt. Trump tried again but Trudeau tightened his grip and just about broke Trump's hand. If you watch the video, you can see Trudeau's wrist muscles clenched up good.
Way to go, Canada. I'm not sure what you call this new kind of diplomacy? Some kind of strong armed tactics? I'm sure they'll come up with a name for it soon enough. |
