during the buildout of the dry mill ethanol industry in Iowa, the prevailing opinion was that "the elevator business" was going to be toast because all of that corn was going to bypass the elevator system and go right to the dry mills....

yes, things changed some, but the worst gloom and doom scenarios did not turn out that way...

instead, we appear to be on track to produce 2.5+ byn corn crops as the new normal

farmers have built space, but there is still a great need for the ability to handle the harvest

the last 6-8 months of the marketing year is where things get more challenging, but there are still opportunities to be had
