I'll second the recommendation on blanching it (boil about 5 minutes vigorously) then ice it down, pack it tight and freeze it. Grandma always wrapped each individual ear in aluminum foil, then put in ziplock bags.
Then out of the freezer boil it again until it is heated through good.
