Subject: RE: Inline three tie balers Hesston vs New Holland vs Freeman

Pedee, Oregon
Hesston has the least complicated three tie baler. I would like a NH pickup head on a Hesston body, or at least the NH pickup teeth on the Hesston head.

NH 585/BB 900 were good balers, just require constant maintenance. Plunger rollers, flywheel bushing, the top jackshaft...

Freeman wanted the 1390 to run at 100+ strokes per minute, combined with some design problems that were fixable but never were fixed due to the sale of the company they never sold many.

17 strokes per bale is probably a pretty average target.

I've been considering a three tie baler instead of 2 tie. Just make a short bale for retail weight. I would want an engine baler, with swing tongue.
