I don't really buy the better weed control claim on 15" over 30". I have had late beans that didn't quite canopy and they were less weedy then the 15" beans planted across the road. You would need to do an actual side by side to see if it helps, and it may only help certain years. With as many different chemical programs and time of applications you can't judge your 15" beans over your neighbors 30" or vise versa.

You said you never have planted 15" beans and that you can't judge 15" beans vs. your neighbors 30" beans and vice versa. That is exactly what you did. Too many different factors between you and your neighbor like amount of weed pressure, planting date, chem program, chem application timing, bean variety....
