planted some beans in 30" a couple years age (plant 15" rest of time) didn't see much diff in yld but weed control suffered My brother who runs the combine did not like them -they laid over a little and were harder to cut w/o leaving beans uncut (in 15" they tend to lay on top of each other think easier to cut). Will make a diff we are in SW Indiana. Tried 30" same reason- 1 planter cheaper than 2 but we have more labor now can run 2 planters same time we like early beans -prob would never get done planting w 1 planter LOL. Remember it takes time to switch between crops.
