NW IL, Mercer County
Monsanto research farm in Monmouth, about 30 min south of me, shows up to 3 bushel advantage for 7.5", 15", and 20" vs 30" on average. Around here getting to be more 30" because bigger planters, but running into resistant weed issues. Guess I'm going against the grain with a 30" corn planter and 15" bean planter, but I also want to be planting both at the same time. Earlier planting, more sunlight interception, earlier canopy, better weed control, and higher yields.....right?
