Subject: RE: CRW reports in N IL in 2015?

Kankakee, IL
My total for the year was 7 and I feel that I spend way more time in the fields than a normal farmer would. My CRW management for 2016 is to have one level of protection on all corn. Very heavy on Non-GMO in 2016 with insecticide. No refuge in a bag on the GMO stuff. Absolutely no need with the trait options available for most varieties. At U of I Agronomy Day back in August even the experts who conduct extensive sweep tests during summer commented on the complete lack of CRW. Most of their concern was for the areas of stressed, later maturing crops that may attract a few late CRW into isolated hot spots. They were strongly suggesting a change in management for 2016 while the likely short termed opportunity existed.
