it is great to know that so many innovative farmers are tackling this riddle.
There are clearly lots of factors that impact success (e..g, CC species, seed placement, timing, weather, corn hybrid stature/architecture, herbicide program, activity of seed eaters and pathogens)
Many areas had favorable weather for germination of interseeded CCs but then turned dry. It seems that better CC seed placement, earlier CC planting and reduced crop vigor helped CC seedlings survive dry conditions but there are probably other factors.
It seems that brassicas like radish and rapeseed have more shade tolerance than commonly reported IF they have adequate light during their first few weeks of growth.
Looking forward to putting out some early interseeding plots in 2016.
