Oral medicines like your basic ibuprofen and tylenol will give you minimal relief. I couldn't take Aleeve but that might help. If you want to avoid replacement for a few years go to a orthopedic doctor and see if you are a candidate Synvisc One injection. That will buy you about six months. No magic pills, the baby boomers are lining up for new knees and hips, me included. In my family of 5 siblings, we have had 7 knees and one hip replaced. One brother has good joints, but the rest of us keep the surgeons busy
