Subject: RE: high moisture corn

Breckenridge, MI
I was told high moisture corn is as good as or better than steam flaked like the big lots use. We put ours up rather dry say 20% to 25% moist (Harvestore). Much wetter than 30 and it doesn't flow out of the wagons. I don't think I'd feel good putting it in a bin - you want to excluded oxygen and bins aren't designed to do that.

Lastly I've been told (and I think this year I'm going to try) a blend of 75/25 hm corn to dry corn which is supposed to be superior to either dry or high moisture in terms of gain and efficiency.
