Subject: RE: Corn scouting disappointments DeKalb county Illinois

Wallis, TX

I hear you, just got finished with 3 fields today.  55 ac and I dumped three times, not because I was full but because I needed to move.  Most corn was less than 4' tall, just drowned from all the rain we had early on.  Many plants had an ear but no grain on the cob.  I should have looked at it better before I moved the combine there, I'm sure the insurance appraisal would have been low enough to not run a combine over it but since I was there I just went ahead and shelled it.  The only good thing is they are the only fields we have in that county so enterprise units will still kick in.
