southern MN | So she had a version of a giant hail storm go through her crop, and is as frustrated as you an I would be. She probably even knows this sort of stuff just happens, but when it happens to me I like to vent about it, I'll bet she does too.
In the coming days instead of tending garden, she gets to sit and look at the mess or clear it out and feel more frustrated at what was lost. A worse mood builds.
Good people skills can make this come out good. Ignoring it or brushing her concerns aside because its such a small deal (and it probably is in the scope of things) could make this a pretty sour deal for a long time.
