| I have recently helped replace the boots on a jd 15 row machine. They only last 2000 acres or so here. All in all, people that have them really like them. From what I have seen the bar itself isn't as heavy as a dmi, but is heavy enough. There aren't a whole lot of places to grease, so I wouldn't want to buy one that has been ran over a lot of acres. Not stopping to stopping to fix a broken shank is a big plus. Also the ability to run 10 mph is a plus, if you have a field big enough to. From what I have heard, the guys with the jd machines stopped when the ground either was freezing on top or too muddy. The guys with knife rigs were still going for a couple more days. | |
