Subject: ipad to replace GreenStar display

Hertford, NC
Is there any chance that someone will figure out how to use an ipad in place of the GreenStar display? It looks like it could be really neat to let it do your yield mapping and keep a running tally of your total grain harvested as well as moisture. You could transfer all that data through the "cloud" to your office, and still be able to do all of the other functions of an ipad for far less than what deere wants for the greenstar display. I guess there could be all types of bluetooth based sensors that could be incorporated for almost any need. If you get to thinking about it, there are very few limits to what could be done with a device like this such as:

pesticide record keeping to include time, place, atmospheric conditions from internet sources
yield monitoring
moisture monitoring
grain inventory
external camera display
application records for pesticide, lime, fertilizer, etc.
onboard weather data
access to any internet based data that could be needed in the field
play "angry birds" while waiting on others to bring fuel/water/empty truck, etc.
