I raise corn, beans and wheat. Corn would be main crop under pivot. I am in NE South Dakota and don't think water permit would be a problem. With 'good' land going for $4,000 or more, I figured this was a way to make poor, paid-for land more productive. Just wish the river wasn't in the way so I could make a full swing! Thanks for the input.
