SC Kansas | For our small angus herd, I've always been able to just walk up and tag the calf, keeping it between me and the mama. Last year I had a cow that wouldn't let me tag, and the other day I had another that chased me around the calf until I gave up. How do you do your tagging? I've heard of guys tossing calf in back of pickup, or a 4 wheeler catch chute. How do you get the calf in the back without mama going crazy? I'd rather not tag the calf I guess than stir up the whole herd, and tag later. | |
