| Since our kids are getting lives of their own, about the only tradition that has remained constant is the annual trip to cut a Christmas tree. This has been an ongoing family ritual for 25+ years now. As time goes on it becomes increasingly difficult to coordinate the event.
As the ritual goes, we meet at the tree farm and wander around 40 acres looking for the perfect tree. It's never close to the front.....always at least in the middle. After the tree is cut, argument begins who is going to carry the tree out....(it's usually the youngest and me). The grandkids go sit with Santa while we pay for the tree. Then it's off to Guido's in Pleasant Hill for pizza.
This tradition never fails to make my wife get tears of joy just having everyone together and enjoying each other for a while.
Anyone else care to share your traditions?
