Subject: Sandy Corn

Any tips on growing corn In sandy soil? I'm located in northern indiana and plan on planting the corn as early as possible so it can get a canopy quickly. I've selected a good hybrid known for drought tolerance from my seed man. I plan on no tilling it with my 7000 series planter, it's not set up for no till but I'm sure this sand it will punch right through. I'm pondering splitting the nitrogen it needs into two applications, at planting then side dressing later. Any other advice or tips? We have almost all clay ground, I'm a young guy and got some sand so figured others may have some advice.
Thanks!
