I got the new update number this morning.. Nationally we're at 80% of target which puts us on track to hit 86 myn corn acres.. NOT the 93 that they wanted. or even the 90 that they HOPED for.. Real life example from the neighbor.. "Corn Beans.. DON'T PENCIL.. Chuck it.. I'm going with cattle feed and a stocker graze out program." The Producer is playing CHICKEN with the input supplier(s).. and NOT MOVING as of yet. We don't CARE how CHEAP you drive the Alternatives.. losing $$$ is losing $$$ no matter WHICH Crop you lose it on.. so.. if that's the case.. might as well pick something cheaper on less inputs.. which so far is the choice being made.. uh hum.. and Sorghum. 86 myn acres.. so far.. THAT's NOT ENOUGH!! If Producers would BEAR DOWN and impose a SALES DROUGHT.. we could run the bears out.. imho.
