Subject: $1.47 feeder justification

South West MN
$100 a ton hay at 30 lb a day is $1.50 plus $.10 mineral is $1.60 x 365 = $584 per year
$1500 cow (did not buy them all at the high) for 10 years minus $1100 sale price is $400 divided by 10 is $40 per year

cow $40
feed $584
bale feeder $10
vet $20
trucking $10
bull $20
commission $12
machinery $10 (use the same tractor that is already sitting around to push snow)
creep feed $94
grand total $800/ 90% calf crop is $880/600lb calf is $1.47 a lb

I did not include yardage mine run around the outside of my grove on pasture and corn stalks but I am sure it is worth something

this could get cheaper if you owned some pasture and grazed corn stalks 3 months out of the year.
