South cental Ohio | I have a 4 year old orchard grass/fescue grass hay field that has some kind of disease in it. The grass won't grow very tall and the second cutting only gets about a foot tall and is brown. What can I plant in the field to help get some tonnage off of it next year? Could I just seed rye in it or would I have to kill the grass stand off? I'm just trying to grow some cow hay and ever since my field got this disease I haven't raised enough hay to amount to anything. I can't remember what it's called-- anthracnose I think and they told me there is no fix for it. Is that right? I should mention that I have the capabuility to make dry hay or wrap the bales and make haylage.
