Chebanse, IL..... | Let's say you want to make some tie-down hooks that will bolt onto farm equipment to enable quick fastening when trailering. You would like 2-3 links to dangle & then the hook. So, can one of those chain links be welded to a heavy piece of strap-iron which will in turn be bolted to the machine frame? Or, will welding totally disqualify the chain link's integrity? Bolting thru the chain link is also possible, but not as aesthetically pleasing as a clean weld on a smooth strap. So, chain weld OK or not? |
