| We currently have one computer, which is a Gateway Pentium III 996 MHz and 256MB RAM running xp. Looking for advice on replacing it. All opinions would be appreciated as there are many on here that I can tell have WAY more experience and knowledge in this area than I have. Is it realistic for me to think that I can continue using my old xp based programs ( quicken, Photoshop, …)? If it is possible to run both windows 7 and xp then do I need a certain windows 7 and better hardware to handle that? Our current computer has 2 CD read/write slots and one 3.25 disc slot. What should I look at getting on a new machine? Should a person get a CD R/W DVD R/W and a blu ray slot and do they even make blu ray that can both read and write to blu ray? I’ll end there but please feel free to give advice on everything you think I may need to consider. TIA | |
