Subject: Mcfarlane harrow uses

I am mostly no till but have a few fields I would like to run a low disturbance "no till ripper". I was thinking one of those 16 bar harrows ran in the spring to smooth out the ridges before planting corn. Would this work ok if the ripper was ran through corn stalks or would the harrow still ball up in the spring? I figured it would work pretty good on soy stubble ground the ripper had been run through.
Also I no till all my soybeans into standing stalks. You get a lot of break down before corn the following year but always still some corn stalks left could you run one of the 16 bar harrows through that much residue without plugging? Would this do a satisfactory job of just scratching the ground enough to dry it out to help plant corn a few days later?
