Hard to find younger truck drivers or kids willing to try to get a class a or even a seasonal. The retired gentleman are still showing up and shifting gears here. No mask worries just happy to be helping. A coop employee is a special worker, hard to park a machine when you got a weeks worth of spread tickets and only 3 days before it’s going to rain.
What person can support themselves and their family on seasonal truck driving? There’s a reason retired guys do that, the same reason High Schoolers flip burgers. Money. (Or lack thereof.)
Agriculture is the only business where employers think they’re entitled to laborers at a wage less than is necessary to get applicants.
