God's Country (N.C. Ia) | The info, and outlook you experienced feeders share here is priceless to idiots like me trying to figure out how to play the cattle game. Can’t beat the price of the info either ;)

Northern Minnesota | I agree. Except that often these experienced folks speak to "each other" using language, terms, figures of speech, shop-talk, marketing cliches etc that us simple folks just don't understand so it is like reading a Chinese newspaper. I often think: "There probably is some valuable information there, I'm just too dumb to know what it is!"

Been more than a few times I’ve felt like a complete moron asking some of the questions I do, but usually guys are quite helpful. I also understand that not everyone wants to give away their secrets, so there’s that as well.

+ 1.. I am a later in life new to cattle guy. Always wanted some but lived in town as a kid. About 10 years ago we got our start with a bottle calf the neighbor gave my daughter. She now has a bachelors in animal science and will have a masters in accounting this spring with a new job in Ag related accounting. She has met many great people that have helped her tremendously as well as traveled abroad through agriculture. My contention is that it goes back to the bottle calf and the best neighbor a family could ask for. All that to say this... I ask what may seem like silly questions to most but I am very grateful I accidently found this site a few years ago. So much information and a lot I don't comprehend sometimes but love trying to. Its a daily habit when I get a break to log in. The pictures and info give me a good reason to keep trying to do better.

But yea usally I get the jist but don't understand well enough to put in easier terms if that makes sense. 5 dollar corn should lead and is already leading to lower carcass weights. So once that critter is dead it isn't making anymore meat towards the overall yearly supply. So fat prices should rally at some point. Remember always beware of a black swan event. Nevermind the crooked pack. They are probably coaching big tech on conclusion at this moment. Big tech fast learners. Best I can do.

Beresford, SD | Thanks, but I’m wrong about as much as right. As years go bye the right decisions tend to out way the bad....experiences. I still make some blunders, too often. 2015 will be stained in my mind forever. The one person in this site that I have the utmost respect for is Spikes over in market talk.....states just facts without opinion.
