Faunsdale, AL | Got going on the teardown of a 531 out of a 6030 I hope is going to be a replacement for the one in my 5020 that has an extra crankcase ventilation opening. Engine was in a shed for the last 10 years after it was removed from the tractor but they’re stuck.
So far I’ve gotten one injector out, 4 others have turned in the bore along with the nut until the injector body hits the head and that’s it and 1 won’t budge at all.
I’ve got two of the special injector wrenches and both of them will spring open enough to slip on the 12 point nuts with just a regular 1/2” ratchet on the top. I’m spraying with penetrating oil and have heated the nut a little on the ones that have turned in the head. That was how I got the one completely out.
Any tips on getting these 12 point hold downs to spin on the injector body? | |
