| I’m having difficulty finding something sufficient for the little dog to eat that won’t cause pancreatitis. Put him on expensive food that had to be prescribed by a veterinarian. He was born without all his teeth and has to have his dry food ground up.
We’ve tried baby food sticks, canned tuna, fish sticks with the breading scraped off, canned chicken, and canned salmon. There was a time he’d eat the salmon or tuna and other things listed so far.
He can’t eat regular canned dog food as that will set off pancreatitis.
What complicates things is he’s going into dementia. |

ND | Its sad, I also have a dog on her last legs, 90% blind and getting thin this past year.
I hope she lasts the winter. I suppose you know about that also. |

| Have you tried scrambled eggs. A couple days ago on either you tube or a farm market show , they were interviewing a guy from the southeast that grows sweet potatoes and he said he had people buying them to feed to dogs that had a health issue. I know nothing about the disease your dog has so do not know if this would be an option but would be a cheap option. |

Pittsburg, Kansas | Eggs are natures multi vitamin.
When I was a kid and we had a runt pig to feed, dad would mix up milk and an egg and feed it. Maybe some water too, don't remember. That little piglet soon became your very best friend.
I wonder if egg and a little hamburger, but hey, I'm no dog guy or vet either one so that is just a speculation.

| Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ll try them and report back. This prescription food was expensive and it has been a struggle to find something that won’t upset his system. He wants to live and is one of the most loving and loyal little dogs. |

| Don’t want to do it but looks like the most humane thing to do is have him put to sleep today. His heart is getting weaker and his kidneys are on the verge of failing. Keeps losing weight. Such a loyal and loving little guy. |
