NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | While we were in AZ last month I completely redid our outdoor irrigation system. I went to Lowe’s to buy the fittings and tools needed. I couldn’t find the usual orange pvc pipe cutter I’ve used for decades back in IA so bought the Kobalt brand. The very first cut I did with it I was super amazed on the release and open mechanism of the tool ,so simple. To open it wide open you just push the squeeze handle outward and it completely opens up. Your little pinky with 1# of pressure with open it.
Fast forward to this past Saturday I needed to do some electrical pvc pipe work at our home here in IA. I get the newest of the orange cutters I have on hand out and all the bad memories came back, you have to pry open with two hands to get them open, even with that you have to really pry to open them.
I was at Lowe’s yesterday, took a picture of it, sent it to one of my sons who’s always asking what I want for Christmas. I hinted if this is all I get for Christmas I’d be a happy man.
Normally if I need something I just buy it. My wife always reminds me this time of year let her or our kids know what I need and don’t buy it myself.
Pics are from tool in AZ, cutters in IA and what I’m hoping to get soon :-). If you do any pvc, cvp and etc. cutting I highly recommend the Kobalt brand.
