Subject: Case IH vs Deere emissions

East Central Illinois
Wanted to get peoples opinions/facts on newer equipment. Long story short, we have a Case 315 that is giving SCR codes and trouble for over a year now. Mechanics come out, ‘fix’, clear codes and a few hours later the codes come back. Getting real tired of derated power and not getting anything done. Have been 100% red for a long time, but this tractor has us rethinking our situation. We have had a 290, 315, 310 and 7230 and 8250 combines all with def. 290 never gave us a single issue with more than 4000 hrs, 7230 gave us trouble the second year, got deleted by a little plug in box, and the last year we had it, it was throwing up codes even with the ‘delete’. For those that have deleted, I’d be interested if there are more permanent/removal of all sensors and components so there can be no future use. I know, it’s a gray, moral area. Any input on if Deere’s are much better? Does it just depend solely on machine to machine? Any info is appreciated.
