Subject: Liberty on Corn

SE North Dakota
I posted this summer about spraying a late shot of Liberty on Liberty link corn. I know the label says V7 but I figured I could cheat some right?? Well I spot sprayed some on the 3rd of July and it was about waist high. Waterhemp was out of control in some low line area’s and the capreno and atrazine didn’t take it all. After I sprayed a week later the corn looked a little banged up but when it tasseled it tasseled the same as the others but was shorter. Came back in August and could see smut showing up in those areas and plants twisting up and going down. Later on I find out that Liberty link corn isn’t necessarily resistant to Liberty but it’s tolerant to it and becomes less tolerant in the reproductive stage. This was a very costly mistake on my part and I would just like to share with everyone that this is what happens and learn from my mistake. Yes there could have been other chemicals to try but that is what was in the sprayer at the time so I went with it. Good day all. Finished corn last night and am tired lol.
