Subject: Cover crops and subsurface drip irrigation

Central Nebraska
I have a piece of ground that has drip tape under it and over the years has gotten hard and doesn't really allow the water to soak between the tapes. We have been planting wheat after the silage is chopped and no tilling the whole field. I wondered if anyone had experience putting a turnip or radish type cover on tape ground. I'm a bit concerned about those crops growing into the tape or messing with it.

Thanks
